About the position

The Programmer Analyst is responsible for developing and modifying complex technical software, ensuring that it meets project deadlines and functions satisfactorily. This role involves collaboration with external vendors and technical teams, providing 24/7 on-call support, and offering technical assistance to programming and operations areas. The Programmer Analyst leads the testing, debugging, and modification of software applications, ensuring their efficient use and integration within the system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify complex technical computer software.
  • Meet project deadlines to ensure satisfactory function of the software.
  • Work with outside vendor representatives and technical teams interfacing with internal applications.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting applications 24/7.
  • Provide technical support to programming and operations areas.
  • Collaborate with systems programmers to develop, install, modify, and maintain operating systems and software products.
  • Lead testing, debugging, and modifications of software applications.
  • Validate the efficient use and integration of software applications.
  • Support complex computer software including utility programs and job control language.
  • Provide technical advice on operating systems and subsystems, including performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of knowledge and experience with Visual Studio, .Net, and C#.
  • Prior experience with remoting into servers for troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years of knowledge and/or experience in a Windows and UNIX environment.
  • Understanding of job schedulers to create jobs including tasks and processes.
  • Knowledge/experience with version control practices and tools.
  • Good understanding of IT system administration best practices.
  • Good understanding of JVMs.
  • Good understanding of Oracle and SQL databases and writing queries.
  • Comfortable with at least one type of shell scripting (Power Shell, KSH, Bash, Perl, WLS, etc.).
  • Understanding of system change control processes.
  • Ability to balance both development and support roles.
  • Experience working on projects involving business segments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and focus on customer service.
  • Excellent communication, design, documentation, analytical, and SDLC skills.
  • Experience providing production support for vendor applications.
