About the position

The Programmer Analyst will serve as an embedded IT resource within the Process Development Engineering team, utilizing IT skills to support new product development and manufacturing processes. This role involves application support, data management, and collaboration with engineering teams to enhance product deployment and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application and configuration support, as well as develop and implement new components and functionalities.
  • Liaise with the user community and other business functions to deliver efficient support services.
  • Work with the Data Warehouse to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Perform ETL processes from Oracle databases to SQL Server.
  • Manage multiple tasks with changing priorities and suggest solutions to challenges faced by the DPE staff.
  • Write user requirements, functional specifications, and design specifications.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and support new and existing applications or processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define plans for integrating and enhancing products and services.
  • Author reports based on departmental needs, including requirements capture, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Assist with the ongoing deployment of the MES application as a technical lead in Contact Lens R&D.
  • Troubleshoot PC software, OS, or hardware issues as needed.
  • Support Software Quality Assurance during MES validation of change control processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, or 4 years of hands-on experience with MES application development, testing, support, database architecture, OOP concepts, and ETL methodologies.
  • 7+ years of experience in database development, including Oracle packages, and MES development (VB.NET or C#).
  • 5+ years of experience in authoring reports (ad hoc, ASP.NET, Crystal, or SSRS).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows systems at the hardware and OS level.
  • Proficiency in SQL or Oracle databases, including querying, building tables, creating objects, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with CFR Part 11 requirements and change control requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with KepServerEX or any transactional management systems.
  • Previous experience working with controls engineers.
