About the position

The Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 role is a senior technical position focused on software development, systems analysis, and Identity and Access Management (IAM). This position requires over 8 years of experience and involves planning, developing, testing, and implementing complex IAM solutions, particularly with Okta. The role combines programming and analytical skills with leadership responsibilities, requiring the ability to manage complex tasks and projects independently.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test complex programs and applications related to IAM systems, including user access management and security systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate new user requests, determining feasibility and integration requirements with existing systems.
  • Implement, configure, and manage Okta IAM solutions, handling user lifecycle management and onboarding processes.
  • Integrate various applications with Okta Gateway and other IAM solutions, ensuring secure authentication and authorization.
  • Automate IAM processes using tools like Jenkins, ensuring efficient deployments for user management across applications.
  • Lead technical projects related to IAM, providing guidance to junior team members and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Document system architecture, data flow diagrams, and detailed implementation plans for IAM integrations.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to provide support for IAM systems, troubleshooting issues outside normal hours.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in programming and systems analysis, focusing on IAM solutions and systems integration.
  • Strong experience in Okta IAM configuration and deployment, including user lifecycle management and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
  • Proficiency in Jenkins and other automation tools for CI/CD and application deployment.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS) and LDAP directories like Active Directory and eDirectory.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems and propose efficient solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with other IAM tools like IBM Security Identity Manager, Tivoli, or Oracle IdM.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or SQL.
  • Understanding of federated identity management, single sign-on (SSO), and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and containerized application deployments.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security, or other IAM-related certifications.
