Analyzes the technical support needs of the Lake County School District systems. Responds to software and hardware requests to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of each department. Maintains open communication with all departmental management and employees for the dissemination of information regarding software and hardware issues. Assists with the development, design, modifications and enhancements to existing applications. Tests, analyzes and repairs routine software issues, i.e., Cobol, CICS command level Cobol, RPG, AS400, Microsoft applications, Crosspointe, Seagate. Installs, maintains, tests, updates and repairs existing software applications; assists in the testing of potential software applications. Codes, tests, and debugs intricate multi-user microcomputer programs. Develops software to interface with new and existing systems. Documents software changes and computer codes; assists in the development of user manuals and on-line help. Performs related duties as directed. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Vocational training or college coursework in software applications, Computer Science or related field, supplemented by one (1) to two (2) years responsible experience in the maintenance, enhancement, analysis and repair of software applications; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
