About the position
The Programmer Analyst position at the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services focuses on developing and implementing data solutions for Medicaid services. The role requires expertise in SAS and involves working on data conversion strategies, real-time analytics, and reporting solutions for Care Management and Encounter Processing within the Medicaid Enterprise Solution. This is a hybrid role, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data conversion strategies for Medicaid services.
- Design and create real-time analytics and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues and business users to meet agency requirements.
- Create documentation including technical designs, flow diagrams, and user documentation.
- Provide production support and resolve issues as they arise.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate software builds using tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
Requirements
- Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide and visual analytics for data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in data architecture, integration, visualization, and process automation.
- Strong programming skills in SAS, R, and PL/SQL.
- Experience with database systems such as Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL Server.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and Business Analytics tools.
- Ability to design, develop, and test complex solutions that meet user requirements.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to provide accurate estimates of effort and duration for assignments.
- Experience with SAS scheduler and creating CI/CD pipelines.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Familiarity with SAS Viya and SAS Administration.
- Experience with Qlik and data warehousing concepts.
- Working knowledge of JSON, XML, and multi-schema files.
