About the position

The Programmer Analyst at the University of Missouri's Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES) is responsible for developing in-house software applications and web-based tools that support various projects aimed at improving public good. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts, working on data visualization, and enhancing the accessibility of software applications. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for innovation and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web-based tools and informational pages for specific projects.
  • Support web-based content management and evolve and maintain Web API and REST APIs.
  • Collaborate on data visualization projects.
  • Work with on- and off-campus collaborators to demonstrate and review project-related programming.
  • Report to CARES management staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience in programming and software development.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, RESTful APIs, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, PHP, JavaScript, Python, HTML, and MySQL.
  • Strong analysis skills and ability to write complex programs.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ESRI products.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance.
