About the position

The Programmer/Analyst position serves as the primary technical lead for the Virginia Community College System, supporting 23 colleges and 2 administrative offices. The role focuses on the configuration, integration, and management of the TeamDynamix platform, ensuring effective infrastructure design and operational support for various departments. Responsibilities include managing complex integrations, overseeing ITIL and ITSM configurations, and providing technical guidance to enhance system performance and support the mission of Virginia's community colleges.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical lead for TeamDynamix platform across multiple departments.
  • Ensure seamless configuration, integration, and management of the platform.
  • Provide advanced technical leadership in managing complex integrations utilizing iPaaS solutions.
  • Oversee ITIL and ITSM configurations and support colleges in onboarding to the TeamDynamix system.
  • Apply scheduled maintenance, including vendor-supplied patches and fixes, to maintain enterprise applications.
  • Manage the release process for new or enhanced applications, including planning and scheduling updates.
  • Deliver detailed implementation documentation and guidelines for system changes.
  • Monitor application performance and conduct reviews to ensure efficient solutions.
  • Lead technical efforts and identify opportunities for system improvements.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of large-scale applications with distributed servers and clients.
  • Strong industry best practices in managing private and public cloud software.
  • Strong technical skills in utilizing software and controls for cloud software access.
  • Strong leadership skills for effective collaboration across colleges.
  • Experience with current releases of PeopleTools, PeopleSoft Financial Management, HR Management, or Campus Solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Cobol, Oracle Development Tools, SQR, Java, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Platform experience in UNIX/Windows server environments.
  • Proven ability to define and develop solutions based on business requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing and supporting interfaces to external applications.
  • Experience with Blackboard (building blocks and APIs) or Oracle/PeopleSoft ERPs.
  • Familiarity with hardware load balancers and optimization of application delivery.
