About the position

Precision Engineering is seeking an experienced Programmer to support operations and engineering in programming punch press and laser equipment. The primary focus of this role is to ensure quality products are manufactured and shipped on time, requiring attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Program Amada punch presses and lasers to produce precision parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
  • Assist punch and laser operators when necessary.
  • Read and analyze CAD files and prints to determine the best method of fabrication and ensure manufacturability.
  • Support machine operators to troubleshoot issues.
  • Investigate machine settings to increase quality, machine performance, and throughput.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a press brake programmer.
  • Able to manipulate, analyze and interpret drawings.
  • Amada 3i software highly desirable, strong working knowledge of SolidWorks an absolute must.
  • Two + years' experience in a manufacturing type setting.
  • Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions.
  • Must know how to read and operate basic measurement tools (tape measure, protractor, calipers, gages, etc.).
  • Ability to successfully work with cross-functional team members such as engineering, programming, scheduling, purchasing, and sales.
