The Programmer position is crucial for managing the Facility Activity Management Plan (AMP) and involves project programming. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of facility requirements and the ability to develop and maintain programming documents for military construction (MILCON) projects. The Programmer will work onsite and be responsible for compiling project requirements, classifying work, obtaining approvals, and maintaining accurate data in government-mandated systems. This position also involves advocating for approved programs and providing planning and engineering support for various facility assessments and mission alignments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary documentation to acquire authority, resources, and funding for planned work.
  • Develop and update programming documents for all MILCON projects submitted for the current fiscal year plus seven future years.
  • Compile project requirements and appropriate programs.
  • Develop project programs and determine facility requirements from various data sources.
  • Classify work correctly and obtain project approval from the authorized authority.
  • Submit programs through the FBWG/FB to obtain approval.
  • Compile, develop, and maintain comprehensive requirements documents and cost estimates for facility projects.
  • Obtain all required coordination and approval for projects.
  • Manage and maintain current, accurate data in NexGen IT and other government-mandated data systems.
  • Complete accurate project programming indicating refined project scopes and cost estimates.
  • Identify project scopes and validate project requirements.
  • Develop programming estimates and maintain documentation for each project.
  • Submit wing-approved programs and project data as requested to HHQs.
  • Advocate for approved programs and provide planning, programming, and engineering support to HHQs actions.
  • Participate in design charrettes/reviews and provide written comments by all involved disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Planning, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Minimum of three years of Air Force experience in Civil Engineering programming.
  • Completion of WMGT 422, 331, Activity Management; WENG 400 and 500.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
