About the position

The position at DATAMATX in Atlanta, GA, combines the roles of a developer, document designer, and process specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with peers to solve problems and meet client data and personalization requirements. This role involves creating applications for processing data files, maintaining automated processes, and collaborating with various departments to achieve client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create applications that automatically process data files upon receipt and produce both paper and electronic transactional/direct mail documents.
  • Implement logging and monitoring for applications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated processes and perform application testing.
  • Create Document templates in OpenText Exstream composition tool for output to various inkjet-based production printing systems.
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks for all work.
  • Collaborate with other departments and functions to achieve creative and efficient solutions to client objectives.
  • Provide support as part of our relationship team in a consultant role to gather requirements and offer expert advice on system, data, and document design best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
  • Debug and troubleshoot application issues.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and team members to understand project requirements.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for developed features.
  • Adhere to coding standards and best practices.
  • Assist in testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Implement security measures to protect data and applications.
  • Implement error handling and reporting mechanisms.
  • Understand and create data models.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience with direct mail or transactional print and mail is a plus.
  • Proficient in procedural and/or object-oriented logic and programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Access, Word, Adobe-PDF; data files and data processing principles.
  • Aptitude for accurately manipulating data with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with web/Windows services, APIs, and microservices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience with database management and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic or VB.NET, Quadient Inspire, OpenText Exstream Dialogue, or custom report creation in a database setting.
  • Two or four year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with web/Windows services, APIs, and microservices is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and database management.
