About the position

The Programming Engineer at Olympic Industries is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining software that controls machinery and production processes. This role involves writing and managing code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotics, ensuring efficient operation and troubleshooting software issues to enhance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and create all nests for the laser department using Lantek
• Assist in design and creation of drawings using Inventor, SolidWorks or other software
• Develop CAD models of components/assemblies and revise existing CAD drawings
• Submit drawings for customer approval and review comments/suggestions with customer, project manager and manufacturing
• Collaborate with facility and production teams to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of designs
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all drawings and designs
• Analyze design specifications to determine feasibility and optimize production efficiency
• Maintain an organized and up to date library of design files, drawings, and project documentation

Requirements

• Experience communicating on technical matters in a production environment
• Strong working knowledge of Lantek, AutoCAD, Inventor, and Solidworks 2-D and 3-D
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as welding, laser, brake press, milling, etc.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze/resolve design-related issues
• Proficient computer skills
