About the position

The Programs Manager at Arcadia will take the lead in our vibrant Programs Department, ensuring the fulfillment of essential duties and responsibilities that cater to the unique needs of our independent and assisted living residents. This role is pivotal in crafting, cultivating, and executing engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The Programs Manager will design, develop, and implement a variety of activities, including games, excursions, musical and cultural programs, and lectures, aimed at fostering interpersonal relationships and promoting socialization among residents. The position requires a keen understanding of residents' capabilities, needs, and interests to regulate program content effectively within budget constraints. In addition to program development, the Programs Manager will coordinate the department's budgeting and purchasing processes, preparing and submitting check requests and requisitions for necessary supplies. The role also involves overseeing the monthly Wellness & Programs Calendar, managing communication through Touch Town, Action Line, and program flyers, and administering the Pilina Program. The Programs Manager will organize and coordinate special outings, work closely with the Chaplain and resident families to facilitate Memorial Services and Vespers Services, and serve as the department liaison during weekly and monthly meetings. Maintaining relationships with entertainers, speakers, and visitors is also a key responsibility, as is encouraging residents to develop their leisure activities and collecting key department metrics and statistics to assess program effectiveness. The work schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured environment conducive to both professional and personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement activities such as games, excursions, musical and cultural programs, and lectures for residents.
  • Regulate program content in accordance with budget and residents' capabilities, needs, and interests.
  • Coordinate department budgeting and purchasing processes, preparing and submitting check requests and requisitions for supplies.
  • Oversee the monthly Wellness & Programs Calendar, Touch Town, Action Line, program flyers, and announcements.
  • Administer the Pilina Program.
  • Organize and coordinate special outings for residents.
  • Work with the Chaplain and resident families to coordinate Memorial Services and Vespers Services.
  • Serve as the department liaison to weekly and monthly meetings, maintaining Programs Committee minutes and Social Accountability entries.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with entertainers, speakers, and visitors.
  • Encourage residents to develop leisure activities.
  • Collect and analyze key department metrics and statistics.
  • Set up AV equipment as necessary for events, presentations, and functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to embrace and learn other software applicable to the job.
