The Project Accountant 2 role at HDR involves managing client invoicing, collections, and project budgeting while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Responsibilities

• Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management, and project budgeting.
• Provide backup assistance on coding and processing A/P, time sheets, and expense reports.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, including fee and budget entry.
• Provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues in collaboration with section and project personnel.
• Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
• Mentor junior project accountants as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a closely related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting; an advanced degree may offset years of experience.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and spelling.
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
