About the position

The Project Accountant at ARYA Group, Inc. is responsible for supporting the project team in various accounting functions related to construction projects. This role involves managing project accounts, processing invoices, reporting on project profitability, and ensuring compliance with contract modifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create project accounts in the accounting system
  • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
  • Process and pay supplier invoices related to a project
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  • Report on project profitability to management
  • Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings
  • Create or approve all project-related billings to customers
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • At least three years of experience in project accounting
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience with Timberline, TimberScan, & Sage Office Connector is helpful

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction industry
