About the position

The Project Accountant will manage all accounting aspects of a portfolio of projects at Energy Systems Group, ensuring compliance with contracts and accounting principles. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and senior leadership to maintain project budgets, manage receivables, and ensure timely communication regarding project statuses.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and execute contract terms and ensure compliance.
  • Transition contract delivery from construction to post-construction services.
  • Research project-specific sales and use tax requirements.
  • Utilize ERP Contracts Management for project documentation.
  • Review subcontract agreements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage subcontract valuation and certification processes.
  • Monitor and document outstanding commitments and taxes.
  • Review budgets for adherence to contracts and document variances.
  • Work with project managers to maintain budgets and ensure accurate cost requirements.
  • Ensure timely billings per contract terms and monitor collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting.
