Coordinates, prepares and analyzes performance measures and reporting. Must meet reporting deadlines; and possess strong communication skills. This job is an exempt status job which may require overtime. It requires the exercise of discretion, discernment, independent judgment, auditing work done by other departments, and ensuring quality control of all data in the accounting system. Also, the accountant is to formulate, interpret, and implement management policies, and improve processes. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of and/or review monthly construction loan draws. Work with lender on resolving issues in order to fund timely. Prepare and/or review monthly GAAP financial statements including classification of costs during the construction process, development fees, common cost allocations, fixed assets and estimated costs to complete when project is delivered. Prepare and/or review monthly project cost summaries for development team. Assist in the preparation of annual development and operating budgets. Accounting for property acquisitions and dispositions, including review and summarization of related documents and preparation of journal entries. Track post-closing items. Coordinate appropriate schedules as required for the team. Assist with reporting monthly accounting information. Prepare final schedules of project costs with variance analysis. Provide financial records for 3rd party tax protest firms. Bank reconciliations. Summarize Trustee Bond Funds remaining on projects. Record deposits with remote deposit capture. Maintain and add to the chart of accounts. Improve processes and accountability work flow. Maintain schedule of Certificates of Deposits and loans. Approve corporate invoices. Help prepare monthly sales tax reports. Ensure all intercompany balances match. Provide information and answer financial auditor questions. Maintain written instructions for staff daily tasks. Maintain monthly calendar. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Degree in Accounting preferred Real Estate development, construction, and partnership accounting experience preferred. Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills in MS Office programs and Acumatica. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data. Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
