About the position

The Project Accountant at Willis Smith Construction is responsible for managing all accounting-related functions for assigned construction projects. This role involves supporting the project team with contract modifications, compliance, payments, and reporting, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and managed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and within assigned timeline.
• Process sub-contractor payments accurately and within assigned timeline.
• Collect and track compliance documents.
• Generate reports including A/R, Contract Status and Job Cost.
• Input owner billings in Timberline and/or Procore.
• Modify job cost reports.
• Conduct monthly financial analysis and ongoing revenue review.
• Collaborate with Project Managers for monthly deadline-driven project billing.
• Ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• Prepare invoices and complete monthly billings.
• Manage contract review and compliance.
• Coordinate and pursue receivables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of construction-specific accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of construction-specific accounting fundamentals.
• High degree of professionalism and strong people skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with customers and employees.
• Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems, Procore and/or Sage Timberline.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Sage Timberline; Timberline Titanium; Miter Procore.
• Willingness to become a Licensed Florida Notary Public within sixty days of start.
