About the position

The Project Accountant role at Aston Carter involves managing all aspects of contract billing, including subcontractor billing, and assisting in project scheduling. The position supports project managers and internal teams by communicating costs, schedule status, and trends, while also handling financial tracking and controls within the ERP system. The accountant will maintain project contracts, analyze cost reports, and prepare billing packages, ensuring accurate financial management throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Process and handle all contract billing including subcontractor billing.
• Assist in project scheduling based on the scope of work, contract overhead, profit, and billing requirements.
• Support project managers and internal team members in communicating costs, schedule status, and trends.
• Handle all financial tracking and controls in the ERP system.
• Assist project managers with financial tracking and forecasting in the ERP system.
• Maintain project contracts, supplemental agreements, and task work orders.
• Analyze project cost reports and budget utilization.
• Prepare all billing project packages with support from project managers and internal team members.
• Handle accounts receivable as needed and collect on past due bills when applicable.
• Perform ad hoc projects and reporting as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in project accounting.
• Proficiency in cash reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GL accounting principles.
• Ability to manage debits and credits effectively.
• Experience with budget to actual analysis.
• Familiarity with time and materials billing.
