About the position

Fishbeck is seeking a talented Project Accountant to join our accounting department in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is responsible for managing the project billing and accounting process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, and providing support to project managers and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a background in accounting, business, or finance, with a focus on project accounting.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-billing information for project managers to review.
• Communicate with project managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications.
• Provide accurate and timely billing, collection, cost accounting, and cost analysis.
• Meet with project managers and project staff to answer billing and collection questions.
• Prepare monthly billing reports for project managers.
• Provide year-end support of auditor requirements.
• Assist with project setup and collections.
• Facilitate job closeout.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a project accountant or similar role.
• Experience in Deltek Vantagepoint or BST.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
• Experience in A/E is a plus.
• Ability to prepare project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Experience in project invoicing and billing.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and client services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in A/E (Architecture/Engineering) is a plus.
