About the position

As a Project Accountant at SPX Cooling Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and growth of the company by managing project cost-related functions. This position involves accurate financial reporting, analysis, and communication of complex financial data to various stakeholders. You will work under the direction of the Controller and contribute to decision-making, planning, and control processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform settlements on warranty, R&D, and commercial projects and analyze and present results.
• Create ad hoc and gross margin reports.
• Prepare, reconcile, and analyze the job cost audit report monthly.
• Work with Project Managers to report on the current financial position, including budget and actuals for various projects.
• Review and post field payroll, engineering allocation, and other monthly journal entries, including freight and warrant accruals.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts and provide supporting documentation.
• Update estimates at completion (EAC) on commercial projects using over time revenue recognition (ASC 606) in SAP ERP system, monthly.
• Assist with internal/external audit requests related to project cost and fixed assets and periodic compliance testing.
• Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Nice-to-haves

• Percentage of completion or overtime revenue recognition accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products.
