The Project Accounting Manager will lead the Project Accounting Team and assist the CFO with project reports as requested. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Project Accounting and its impact on the General Ledger. The successful candidate will coordinate Deltek Vision training from project setup to project closing, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle the intricacies of project accounting. In this position, the individual is expected to gain exposure and training in all areas of Project Accounting. They will prepare summaries of work performed, including documentation of procedures, recommendations, and identification of significant control points and weaknesses. The Project Accounting Manager will approve new projects for entry and review job costing departments, ensuring the completion of project billings and collections. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and posting accounts receivable entries, including cash receipts, voids, credits, and unapplied amounts. The manager will prepare month-end closing reports such as backlog and work-in-progress (WIP) reports. Keeping up-to-date with Deltek Vision accounting software and reviewing new products that can enhance accounting procedures is also a critical part of this role. The Project Accounting Manager will be responsible for hiring and training accounting staff, scheduling workloads for available personnel while accommodating vacations, sick leave, and other absences, and maintaining the proper staff size to ensure effective and efficient use of time.
