About the position

John G. Johnson Construction Company (JGJ) is a commercial construction manager located in Cleveland, Ohio and is currently seeking a full-time Project Accounting Manager. The majority of our projects are located in Northeast Ohio with some projects out of state.

Responsibilities

  • Setup projects in accounting software including estimates and schedule of values
  • Enter and route all AP to Project Managers for approval
  • Follow up with subcontractors for missing documentation
  • Coordinate with PM to complete the monthly owner draw
  • Coordinate with Compliance Manager to confirm subcontractors/suppliers are current
  • Process payments for project related costs
  • Collaborate with PM's to prepare and complete monthly Financial Reviews
  • Attend Preconstruction Hand Off Meetings
  • Maintain Certificates of Insurance, BWC Certificates, and W-9's in the accounting software
  • Process Notice of Commencement and Notice of Furnishings accordingly

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction accounting
  • Advanced Excel skill level
  • Proficient in Word and Outlook
  • Organized & detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate across disciplines and departments
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Familiarity with forms G702/G703, Affidavits, Lien Waivers

Nice-to-haves

  • Viewpoint Spectrum and Team software experience is strongly preferred but not required
