About the position

The Project Architect will lead multiple residential and commercial projects, focusing on quality design and execution. This role offers growth opportunities as the firm expands, allowing for greater involvement in projects from inception to completion. The architect will collaborate closely with design and client teams throughout the project delivery process, contributing to all phases of architectural design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple residential and commercial projects simultaneously.
  • Work closely with the project design team and client team in each phase of the project delivery process.
  • Contribute to all aspects and phases of the architectural design process.
  • Assist in creating project schedules and budgets.
  • Attend project meetings and collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and design team consultants.
  • Maintain and organize project files.
  • Travel to and from project and client meetings as necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, planning, concept development, and implementation of building designs.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, budgets, and construction documents.
  • Manage client relationships and generate accurate drawings and documentation.
  • Ensure responsibilities are delivered with quality that meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed drawings showing both external and internal appearances of building projects.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data from various sources for project development.
  • Conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions.
  • Incorporate advanced modeling techniques and design requirements for safety and functionality.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to execute project work and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare data and visualizations for interpretation or presentation of findings.
  • Maintain quality control standards for measurements and documentation.
  • Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.
  • Contribute to technical reports and presentations regarding design and construction issues.
  • Conduct research to assess feasibility and environmental impact of designs.
  • Collaborate with professionals and authorities on various building projects.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in architectural design or equivalent educational experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or closely related discipline.
  • Knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and processes.
  • Experience with building planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management.
  • Knowledge of relevant building and construction laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficient creative, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail and results orientation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup is required.
  • Ability to perform field surveys.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for client interaction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in commercial projects and/or interior design is preferred.
  • Direct experience in the construction field is preferred.
  • Registration desired.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
