About the position

IMC Architecture is a boutique firm located in Brooklyn, NY, seeking a talented and versatile Project Architect/Interior Designer to help grow our practice and expand our interior division. The firm specializes in the ground-up and renovation of medium to large-scale multi-family residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sense and a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Interior Architecture, with expertise in the preparation of construction documents and Building Information Modeling (BIM). This role requires a self-motivated and reliable individual who can manage all aspects of a project effectively. The Project Architect/Interior Designer will be responsible for overseeing all project phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review. The candidate will prepare and review architectural drawings, construction documents, and specifications, ensuring that all documentation meets the required standards. Collaboration is key in this role, as the candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution. In addition to technical skills, the candidate will create drawings, boards, fabric schemes, and other relevant items for client presentations. They will also assist in the preparation of technical drawings and design conceptual presentation imagery. Researching and sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers, and interior finishes within the project budget and aesthetic will also be part of the responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all of the project phases such as Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review.
  • Prepare and review architectural drawings, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Create drawings, boards, fabric schemes, and any relevant items for client presentations.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical drawings as well as design and conceptual presentation imagery.
  • Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers, and interior finishes within the project budget and aesthetic.

Requirements

  • High proficiency in Revit.
  • Strong communication and client interface skills.
  • Demonstrated project delivery experience, including production & coordination of drawings for all architectural phases.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, details, and methods.
  • Working understanding of the NYC codes and zoning.
  • Relevant NYC experience.
  • Experience in the Construction Administration phase.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in an architectural office.
