About the position

As a Project Architect at Schaefer, you will manage all aspects of project document development and coordinate with project team members to ensure quality work within established schedules for various complex projects. This role involves partnering with the Project Manager and/or Principal to ensure design excellence, financial health, and quality of project documents while preventing claims and fostering team collaboration. You will lead cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions, making this position ideal for a collaborative thought leader with a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project document development.
• Coordinate with project team members to maintain quality work within established schedules.
• Partner with the Project Manager and/or Principal to ensure design excellence and financial health of projects.
• Lead cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions.
• Work directly with project managers and designers in the conceptual development of project documents.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
• Registered Architect; NCARB registration preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Architect.
• Demonstrated portfolio of work.
• Proficient in the use of REVIT computer modeling and rendering software.
• Comprehensive understanding of design disciplines and ability to coordinate them.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Sketchup (1 year preferred).
• Experience with projects over 15,000 sf and/or $6M in construction cost.
