About the position
The Project Assistant Co-Op position at Brigham Research Institute & Office for Research Careers is a temporary role designed to support the BRI/ORC staff through various administrative and project-based tasks. The co-op will engage in data analytics, funding opportunities, web development, and assist in hosting events for the research community. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the BRI/ORC team, gaining training in web development and strategic communication while being responsive to the evolving needs of the institutes.
Responsibilities
- Support BRI/ORC staff in data analytics and funding opportunities.
- Assist in hosting events for the research community.
- Manage workflow of funding opportunities and prepare materials for review.
- Create and maintain collaborative resource lists for researchers.
- Collect, analyze, and create representations of metrics from BRI funding mechanisms.
- Draft minutes and prepare PowerPoint presentations as needed.
- Manage ESL course applications and certificates.
- Prepare materials for Faculty Career Development Award & Research Staff Excellence Awards.
- Assist with the BRI Undergraduate Research Summer Internship Program if it runs.
- Create webpages and manage data using WordPress and Airtable.
Requirements
- Active/enrolled college undergraduate or graduate program.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently on projects.
- Highly organized with initiative to manage smaller projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Interest in science, research, and administration.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with web development (WordPress).
- Familiarity with strategic communication tools (Constant Contact, social media).
