About the position
The Project Associate at AMP Insights is a full-time permanent role focused on addressing water and watershed challenges through research, data analysis, and client engagement. The position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to support various projects related to water management and natural resources, primarily in the western United States. The Associate will engage with diverse clients, including non-profits, Tribes, and government agencies, to provide strategic advice and deliver research findings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct background research and literature reviews.
- Perform data quality assurance and control, including preparing, cleaning, and organizing datasets.
- Analyze data and produce insights.
- Utilize GIS for mapping and analysis.
- Write reports and memos for various audiences to convey research results.
- Manage communications for new project proposals and marketing efforts, including RFP responses and newsletters.
- Collaborate with AMP partners and senior staff to develop and communicate strategic advice to clients.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field with 2-4 years of work experience, or MA/MS degree in natural resources, water resources, environmental science, environmental economics, or another relevant field.
- Experience with self-directed research.
- Ability to work with a remotely based team in a hybrid work setting.
- Demonstrated interest in natural resource management, specifically related to water and watershed sustainability.
- Excellent analytical skills and proven organizational ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
