About the position

The Project Associate at AMP Insights is a full-time permanent role focused on addressing water and watershed challenges through research, data analysis, and client engagement. The position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to support various projects related to water management and natural resources, primarily in the western United States. The Associate will engage with diverse clients, including non-profits, Tribes, and government agencies, to provide strategic advice and deliver research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research and literature reviews.
  • Perform data quality assurance and control, including preparing, cleaning, and organizing datasets.
  • Analyze data and produce insights.
  • Utilize GIS for mapping and analysis.
  • Write reports and memos for various audiences to convey research results.
  • Manage communications for new project proposals and marketing efforts, including RFP responses and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with AMP partners and senior staff to develop and communicate strategic advice to clients.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field with 2-4 years of work experience, or MA/MS degree in natural resources, water resources, environmental science, environmental economics, or another relevant field.
  • Experience with self-directed research.
  • Ability to work with a remotely based team in a hybrid work setting.
  • Demonstrated interest in natural resource management, specifically related to water and watershed sustainability.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven organizational ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
