About the position

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated Project BIM Coordinator to join our Architecture team. This full-time position is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of CAD/BIM-related tasks across various projects. The Project BIM Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all CAD/BIM-related activities, establishing and updating project file setups in Revit for the entire design team. This role involves creating comprehensive CAD/BIM project execution plans that guide the full design process, ensuring that all team members are aligned and equipped with the necessary resources. In addition to project setup, the Project BIM Coordinator will establish Revit and CAD/BIM models in BIM360 or other collaborative workspaces, facilitating seamless collaboration among team members and subconsultants. The coordinator will be responsible for performing quality control reviews on CAD/BIM elements at key project milestones, ensuring that all outputs meet the firm's high standards of quality and accuracy. The role also includes producing design and construction drawings and documentation, developing technical construction documents and details in a collaborative team environment, and coordinating with discipline leads in architecture, interiors, and engineering. Furthermore, the coordinator will produce project imagery for use in documents and presentations, enhancing the visual communication of project concepts and designs. This position may require limited travel, providing opportunities to engage with clients and project stakeholders directly. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural technology or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in CAD/BIM software, particularly Revit. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all CAD/BIM-related tasks on assigned projects.
  • Establish and update project file setups in Revit for the full design team.
  • Create CAD/BIM project execution plans for a full design process.
  • Establish Revit and CAD/BIM models in BIM360 or other collaborative workspaces.
  • Work with subconsultants to provide the correct files/formatting for projects.
  • Perform quality control reviews on CAD/BIM elements of projects at appropriate milestones.
  • Produce design and construction drawings and documentation.
  • Develop technical construction documents and details in a team environment.
  • Coordinate with discipline leads in architecture, interiors, and engineering.
  • Produce project imagery for use in documents and presentations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (or higher) in architectural technology or related field AND at least 10 years of relevant experience; OR, if no degree, must have at least 12 years of relevant architectural or engineering experience.
  • Experience setting up projects in Revit and other CAD/BIM software, including multiple-phase projects.
  • Experience using CAD/BIM software, including Revit, to prepare architectural design documents including details, imagery, technical drawings and presentations.
  • Experience with analysis, preparation and/or modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and/or designs for projects.
  • Experience sharing CAD/BIM software best practices and staying current on all software updates.
