About the position

The Project Business Coordinator - III position is a long-term contract role based in Irving, TX, with a hybrid work model. This role is crucial in assisting Construction Project Managers to ensure the successful completion and financial performance of various construction projects. The coordinator will be responsible for managing all financial activities related to the projects, which includes creating and funding projects, establishing budgets, and tracking invoice payments. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain project trackers and communicate financial forecasts effectively. In this role, the Project Business Coordinator will collaborate closely with client Project Managers, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring that all financial submissions align with the Plan of Record. The coordinator will also be tasked with reviewing funding requirements and managing the financial aspects of the projects, which includes requesting purchase orders and change orders, as well as physically and financially closing projects. This position demands a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, as well as the ability to work independently and support a team in daily administrative tasks related to construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. They should demonstrate success in building interpersonal relationships and be flexible, resourceful, and proactive in their approach to work. A good understanding of accounting and financial terms is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office, Google Office Suite, and Smartsheet. Exposure to IBM Tririga and 1ERP is considered a plus, making this role suitable for individuals with a background in business, particularly those with coursework in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Construction Project Managers with the overall completion and financial outcome of construction projects.
  • Review funding requirements and submissions against the Plan of Record.
  • Manage all project financial activity in the client finance systems, including the creation of projects, funding projects, establishing project budgets, requesting purchase orders, change orders, tracking invoice payments, and physically and financially closing projects.
  • Work closely with client Project Managers, Vendors, Accounts Payables, and other internal client teams.
  • Maintain and update project trackers and communicate financial outlooks.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Experience supporting a team in daily administrative construction tasks.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers while remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in MS Office suite, Google Office Suite, and Smartsheet.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial terms.
  • Exposure to IBM Tririga and 1ERP is a plus.
