About the position

Olsson is a team-based, purpose-driven engineering and design firm that provides multidisciplinary design services for some of the largest and most forward-thinking companies in the world. As a Project Civil Engineer on our Data Center Civil Team, you will have the opportunity to work on large hyperscale data center campuses throughout the U.S., engaging in some of the most complex engineering-driven projects being built today. Our clients value the relationship we build with them, allowing us to contribute to society's technological and connected community through the design of critical infrastructure that supports these projects. In this role, you will serve as a project manager on certain projects and as the lead design engineer on others. Your responsibilities will include preparing planning and design documents, conducting design calculations, and developing and maintaining team and client standards. You may also lead quality assurance and quality control efforts and act as an advisor on complex projects. Coordination with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, clients, and other consultants will be essential to your success. The position offers flexible work options, including remote and hybrid opportunities, to accommodate diverse working preferences and promote work-life balance. Candidates can choose to work hybrid schedules, work remotely, or work from any Olsson office location in the designated regions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager on certain projects and lead design engineer on others.
  • Prepare planning and design documents for data center projects.
  • Conduct design calculations and develop team and client standards.
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts on projects.
  • Coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, clients, and other consultants.
  • Travel to job sites for observation and attend client meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering.
  • At least 6 years of related civil engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D software.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
