About the position

Olsson is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join our Data Center Civil Team in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a part of our multidisciplinary design services, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects in the U.S., specifically focusing on hyperscale data center campuses. This role is integral to our mission of improving communities through innovative design and engineering solutions. You will be involved in preparing planning and design documents, conducting design calculations, and developing and maintaining both team and client standards. Your responsibilities will also include leading quality assurance and quality control processes, as well as acting as an advisor on complex projects. Collaboration is key, as you will coordinate with various Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, clients, and other consultants to ensure project success. In this position, you will serve as a project manager on some projects while taking on the role of lead design engineer on others. Your work will directly contribute to the design of critical infrastructure that supports technological advancements and connected communities. The role offers flexible work options, including remote and hybrid opportunities, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively. You may also be required to travel to job sites for observation and attend client meetings, further enhancing your engagement with the projects and clients you serve.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project manager on select projects and lead design engineer on others.
  • Prepare planning and design documents for data center projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering.
  • At least 6 years of related civil engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D software.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
