About the position

The Project Engineer at Pennoni will play a crucial role in leading multi-discipline design projects, focusing on both public and private site development. This position involves preparing engineering design drawings, managing project workloads, and mentoring junior staff, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and effective project completion.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering design drawings from schematic design through construction documents.
• Conduct municipal site plan submissions and cost breakdowns for municipal bonding.
• Meet with clients and regulatory agencies to discuss project requirements.
• Delegate project workload to Junior Engineers & Drafters, monitoring schedules and budgets.
• Mentor and guide junior-level staff in their professional development.
• Complete field inspections as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in NJ or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Nice-to-haves

• Management and/or Project Management experience.
• Experience with greenfield/land development projects.
• Advanced proficiency in site design functions including site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
• Expertise in stormwater management utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools.
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as CADD and project management software, with exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 or later.
• Understanding of NJ regulations at the State, County, and Municipal level, especially stormwater management regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
