About the position

The Project Construction Manager for Olsson is responsible for overseeing construction activities related to railroad projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves significant travel, with expectations of being onsite at various locations across multiple states, and requires effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Understand third-party plan submittals and ensure compliance with railroad guidelines.
  • Observe and document construction activities for adherence to approved submittals.
  • Manage day-to-day correspondence with railroad clients in the field.
  • Initiate actions to align third-party contractors with railroad safety and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external railroad stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a railroad FRA 213 qualified person and competency in GCOR rules required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to foresee and mitigate coordination issues between railroads and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license required.
