About the position

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an experienced Project Controller (d/m/w) to support project control at the Immenstaad location. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling exciting projects in the fields of Earth observation, scientific missions, or telecommunications. As a competent 'Finance Sparring Partner', you will assist management in making the right decisions and taking appropriate actions at the right time, thereby significantly contributing to the future economic success of the area. At the Airbus site in Friedrichshafen, you will work on innovations in a picturesque setting overlooking Lake Constance. Your responsibilities will include the commercial management of the projects you oversee, regular preparation of final cost estimates, operational planning, and forecasts. You will conduct variance analyses and determine suitable corrective measures, manage liquidity planning, and provide quantitative and qualitative data to support discussions and decision-making at the upper management level. You will also be involved in monthly reporting, support operational leaders in improving financial and operational results, and assist in the Risk & Opportunity Management process.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of the projects served
  • Regular preparation of final cost estimates for the projects and assessment of impacts on the profit and loss statement
  • Creation of operational planning and forecasts
  • Conducting variance analyses and determining suitable corrective measures
  • Liquidity planning for the projects served
  • Preparation of quantitative and qualitative data to support discussions and decision-making at the upper management level
  • Evaluation of results against budgets/targets
  • Monthly reporting including any necessary transnational coordination
  • Support operational leaders in improving financial and operational results
  • Assist in the Risk & Opportunity Management process and implement results in the overall financial assessment of the project
  • Support project management in key decisions
  • Assist in change proposals by providing quantitative and qualitative financial data to prepare a successful offer
  • Validation of the consistency of financial content and the financial risk potential of the offer

Requirements

  • Completed studies in business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable field
  • Several years of solid professional experience in controlling (industrial) projects; ideally in the aerospace sector
  • Experience with public clients (ESA/DLR) and knowledge of specific customer requirements is advantageous (especially CCN processing, reporting, etc.)
  • Very good knowledge of common office applications, especially Excel, as well as SAP CO/PS
  • Experience with BI tools
  • Good and quick comprehension as well as good assertiveness
  • Solution-oriented and independent work with the ability to set priorities
  • Fluent communication in German and English, both written and spoken

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes
  • Familiarity with financial risk assessment
