About the position

The Project Controller at WestLand Resources, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting project teams by managing budgets, billings, and financial reporting. This position is integral to ensuring that project activities align with company policies and contractual obligations, while also fostering strong relationships with clients. The role offers flexibility in work location, allowing candidates to work from either the Tucson or Phoenix offices.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Project Teams with project planning, execution, and closeout.
• Helping to ensure that project activities follow Company policy, accounting principles, and contractual obligations.
• Monitoring project expenditures and budget variances then communicating potential issues.
• Generating project specific monitoring reports.
• Creating, tracking, and processing project-related invoices.
• Interface with internal and external clients to proactively solve problems and promote healthy relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Additional years of experience may substitute for education requirements.
• Two (2) or more years of project or accounting related experience required. Experience in a consulting environment would be considered an asset.
• Customer service mindset.
• Demonstrated skills in Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.
• Experience with Deltek (Vantagepoint or Vision) strongly preferred.
• Effective communication skills (written and oral).
