About the position

The Project Controller will drive financial excellence and project success by continuously measuring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting on project costs, cash flows, and revenues. This role ensures the implementation of project-specific strategies and accurate financial oversight for projects in the Substation EPC market, including utilities, battery storage, rail, and data centers. The Project Controller collaborates closely with project management and key stakeholders to develop detailed cost structures, maintain accurate financial records, and support strategic decision-making, ultimately contributing to Linxon's growth and success in North America. Key Areas of Responsibility (KARs) include continuous measurement, analysis, forecasting, and reporting of project costs, cash flows, and revenues. The Project Controller will monitor and record project changes, implement project-specific strategies, and develop detailed project cost structures and coding under Standard Work Breakdown Structures. Collaboration with Project Management and other stakeholders (Legal, Procurement, Quality, HSE, etc.) is essential. The role also involves applying cost allocation and project accounting principles to ensure accurate cost reporting, including preparation of month-end progress accruals. The Project Controller will monitor and present project performance metrics (cost, P&L, revenue, cash, change orders, claims), identify and quantify cost variances, maintain a change register, and incorporate approved changes into forecasts. Performing variance analysis, developing recovery plans, and preparing cost-to-complete estimates are also key responsibilities. The role supports tendering teams with commercial aspects and liaises with clients, ensuring internal controls, supporting contract management, and meeting bonding requirements. Additionally, the Project Controller will provide support for resource planning, ad-hoc analysis, and preparation of position papers while adhering to safety, health, and environmental regulations. The position also involves assisting the project management team in developing and enforcing lessons learned within the company and working with Contract Management and Project Management Teams to prepare and cost change orders or claims. Billing and payments responsibilities include preparation of customer invoices and follow-up on cash collection, as well as monitoring suppliers' payments and following up with other functions if required. The Project Controller will support the continuous development of Project Controls at the Linxon Global level through knowledge sharing and use of the PIMS, with periodic travel to sites approximately once per quarter.
