About the position

The Project Controller at Magna Powertrain plays a crucial role in supporting program managers and the engineering team by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on project status and variances. This position involves establishing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts for various costs, while also acting as a liaison between manufacturing, sales, and corporate teams. The Project Controller is responsible for developing program-specific financials and profitability reporting, ensuring sound business practices and modern analytics are applied throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of new processes and standards for the Global Quoting Process from a financial perspective.
• Recommend and identify improvements to quote cost models and finance tools.
• Ensure all costs are accurate and included in the cost model.
• Support Sales with contracts regarding fixed cost clauses and financial terms.
• Generate financial analysis and sensitivity analysis of projects.
• Provide financial advice to the project team.
• Analyze business cases.
• Support pre-operational cost tracking and reporting.
• Maintain product cost routings in the ERP system and ensure accuracy.
• Support the program team in generating cost breakdowns for customers.
• Prepare financial information to support sales negotiations.
• Generate monthly/quarterly reports for SLT & MFS Group Office.
• Support the budget process.
• Assist sales/operations with data collection and presentation related to commercial issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and submit suggestions.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Finance
• 5+ years of professional experience in related positions, preferably within the automotive industry
• Financial background preferred
