About the position

The Project Controls Engineer III at North Wind Group plays a crucial role in assisting project managers by managing project schedules and costs. This position involves developing and maintaining project performance baselines, preparing cost estimates, and conducting forward-looking analyses to ensure project success. The engineer will support project organizational activities and collaborate with regional managers to enhance project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in managing project schedules and costs.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor complex project performance baselines.
  • Prepare project estimates and perform cost analysis to assess project health.
  • Identify impacts and assist in developing recovery plans.
  • Support project organizational and administrative activities.
  • Perform schedule monitoring and update functions for specific applications.
  • Prepare progress and performance reports for assigned projects.
  • Manage assigned projects and maintain cost and schedule data.
  • Support procurement actions including accruals and invoicing.
  • Conduct forward-looking analysis of projects and develop accurate estimates at completion.
  • Prepare project projections for corporate forecasting reports.
  • Identify and analyze cost trends for management attention.
  • Manage and review change orders and ensure accurate billing revenue.
  • Assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structures and schedules.
  • Interface with company business systems like Primavera P6 and Deltek Costpoint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in management, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of project controls experience in engineering, environmental, and construction projects.
  • Experience in preparing cost estimates and utilizing bottoms-up ETC analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with Project Controls EVMS processes and project management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten or more years of experience as a Project Controls Engineer.
  • Experience with EcoSys and financial background preferred.
