About the position

The Project Control Engineer is responsible for managing project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure plans for major and multi-year projects. This role involves cost reporting and analysis, risk management, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure effective project controls and data management. The engineer will also support change control and contract management processes, providing critical insights to assist in business decisions and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, baselines, and forecasts for assigned projects.
• Prepare routine and complex cost reports to assist Project Managers in monitoring and managing costs.
• Create and maintain a risk register and evaluate contingency needs using methods like Monte Carlo analysis.
• Perform detailed research and data analysis in areas of cost controls and prepare recommendations for business decisions.
• Support change control and contract negotiation processes, including claims management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate results and cost impacts effectively.
• Prepare project controls data responses for audits and regulatory filings.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in cost controls/management.
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management, Project Controls, or Construction Management.
• Knowledge and experience in contract negotiation/management and handling claims.
• Experience with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and SAP or similar applications.
• Experience with Project Controls software (Project, Primavera, Contract Manager).
• A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a 4-year college graduate in a relevant field.
