About the position

The Senior Field Project Controls Planning/Scheduling Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the planning and scheduling functions for a groundbreaking hydrogen power generation project in Delta, UT. This position requires extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, and controls, particularly in complex industrial environments. The successful candidate will lead a team, ensuring project milestones are met while maintaining cost control and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project controls scheduling team, providing guidance and oversight to less experienced personnel.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera (P6).
  • Perform critical path and float analysis, identifying schedule risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Support the management of project changes, tracking and reporting schedule variances, progress, and productivity.
  • Facilitate productivity reporting and apply key cost control processes to monitor project financials.
  • Interface regularly with senior management, project teams, and external stakeholders to provide scheduling updates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Primavera P6 planning/scheduling in complex industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of critical path methodology (CPM) and float analysis.
  • Experience working in field or site-based environments, particularly within fossil power or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree: A minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling.

  • Proficiency in SURETRAK software.
  • Demonstrated experience with cost control processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
