About the position

The Project Controls Specialist II - Change Coordinator position at Fluor Corporation is a critical role that involves performing project control functions related to cost and schedule management. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of project controls activities for various assignments, ensuring that all project-related tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. The specialist will prepare the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Project Coding Structures to maintain control and integrity of the work as defined by the contract. This includes accumulating and compiling accurate cost management data to prepare the project budget and updating the progress of the project as it unfolds. In addition to budget preparation, the role requires the development of cost control and scheduling procedures, execution plans, and business plans tailored for specific projects. The Project Controls Specialist will participate in weekly project cost reviews and schedule meetings, providing insights and updates on project status. A key responsibility of this position is to develop and implement a basic change management system for engineering and construction projects, ensuring that any changes are documented and managed appropriately. Furthermore, the specialist will be tasked with developing and maintaining management, project, and control level schedules, which are essential for tracking project timelines and deliverables. The role may also involve additional duties as assigned, which could vary based on project needs and organizational requirements. Candidates should be prepared for background checks as part of the hiring process, which will include verification of education, professional registration, and employment history. This position requires effective communication skills to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Responsibilities

  • Perform project control functions related to cost and schedule management.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
  • Six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Practical experience in the use of automated cost/schedule management systems.
  • Leadership roles on various projects are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for project assignments.
