About the position

The Project Coordinator/Analyst in Public and Population Health will work under the supervision of the Project Director and co-investigators on various significant research projects. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities including study subject recruitment, data collection, data and statistical analyses, and report writing. The individual will also manage day-to-day project coordination and communication, ensuring compliance with project contract deliverables and the timely completion of project activities. Key projects include the Aliso Canyon Disaster Health Research Study, NIH research projects related to oral health, and the Baldwin Hills Health Assessment project, among others. As a vital member of the team, the Project Coordinator/Analyst will regularly interact with co-investigators and key decision-makers across health, nonprofit, and government sectors. This position requires convening local stakeholders and decision-makers, managing project activities, and ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule while meeting the requirements set by funding agencies. The individual will participate in research meetings, conduct literature reviews, assist in subject recruitment and follow-up, manage data collection, and contribute to the development of research manuscripts, potentially co-authoring publications. Specific responsibilities include coordinating data core activities for the Aliso Canyon Disaster Health Research Study, overseeing subject recruitment for the Oral Health PROMIS Study, and ensuring timely deliverables for the Baldwin Hills Health Assessment Study. The Project Coordinator/Analyst will also manage workflow, engage in teamwork, and have opportunities to co-author abstracts, presentations, and research papers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data core activities for the Aliso Canyon Disaster Health Research Study, including data security measures and communication with collaborators.
  • Oversee subject recruitment efforts for the Oral Health PROMIS Study in collaboration with local school districts and organizations.
  • Ensure timely deliverables and final report submissions for the Baldwin Hills Health Assessment Study.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the workflow of project activities to ensure objectives are met on time and with quality.
  • Participate in health research projects, including literature reviews, data collection, and statistical analyses, and assist in manuscript development.
  • Engage in teamwork and co-author research papers, abstracts, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and maintaining project documentation, including project plans and status reports.
  • Work experience in public health, medicine, public relations, management, public policy, education, social work, or community organizing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of data and statistical software is a plus.
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build working relationships with diverse organizations and policymakers.
  • Strong project coordination and management skills with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and manage changing priorities under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to anticipate information needs and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to work alternative hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
