About the position

The Project Coordinator at the Cannabis Research Center within the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health will manage multiple research projects focused on the implications of cannabis legalization on public health. This role involves coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and providing logistical support. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple research projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
  • Recruit participants and develop data collection instruments and protocols.
  • Oversee data collection in various locations, including state/county fairs and retail locations.
  • Hire, train, and supervise field data collection staff.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update project plans to ensure adherence to project goals and research protocols.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Create and monitor work plans and timelines for projects, tracking expenditures.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve project issues, escalating complex issues to CRC Leadership.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Act as the point of contact for project status communication to the CRC team.
  • Participate in writing scientific manuscripts and other dissemination tools.

Requirements

  • BA/BS plus at least 4 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 8 years.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating research or public health projects.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Skill in accurately preparing and maintaining records, files, reports, and correspondence.
  • Attention to detail in completing assignments accurately.
  • Willingness to collect data in various locations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to antiracism and social equity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in public health or related field.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Ability to communicate and work with diverse communities.
  • Interest in policy and/or substance use research.
  • Experience managing a budget and working within budget constraints.
