About the position

The Project Coordinator/Case Manager position at Bellarmine University is a vital role within the Counseling Center, focusing on the coordination of the Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Grant Knights Care Program. This position aims to enhance access to mental health and substance abuse services for students, particularly targeting first-generation, low-income, underrepresented racial minority (URM), and LGBTQ+ students. The role involves administrative coordination, outreach education, case management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate major elements of the GLS grant, including planning meetings and documentation.
  • Track, collect, and analyze data; prepare reports related to the grant.
  • Promote, plan, and conduct gatekeeper training (QPR, MHFA) and mental health outreach education for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Conduct mental health/substance abuse needs assessments and referrals.
  • Provide case management for high-risk students.
  • Collaborate with the Wellness and Prevention Specialist on planning and conducting mental health and substance abuse screening events.
  • Participate in various planning meetings including Counseling Center staff meetings and project meetings.
  • Maintain a community referral network and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Advisor for Clinical Services in training and supervision of Peer Mental Health Advocates.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, public health, or related field.
  • Professional experience working with first-generation, low-income, underrepresented racial minority (URM), and/or LGBTQI+ populations.
  • Knowledge of mental health/substance abuse conditions and treatments.
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and resources.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with culturally diverse populations.

Nice-to-haves
