About the position

The Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking a Project Coordinator - Child Welfare Specialist to assist and support the Children's Justice staff with project implementation, assessment, and other requirements as dictated by current grant projects. This is a temporary, full-time position funded by federal grants, and the successful candidate will be required to work closely with project partners and facilitate communication among multidisciplinary groups. The role is crucial in ensuring compliance with federal requirements, including data collection and reporting, and providing assistance to assigned Judicial Districts. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for providing project progress updates and data to the Director, as well as offering technical assistance and support to Family Treatment Courts. Participation in local and state committees is also expected, along with other duties as assigned based on grant requirements. The position will be supervised by the Director of the Children's Justice Program in State Court Administration, and the work location will be determined within the 6th, 7th, and 8th Judicial Districts in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Iowa.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a close working relationship with project partners

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of experience in child welfare, substance abuse, mental health, health care, family services, court or legal work, or a related area
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all areas of work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to develop statistical calculations and spreadsheets
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Nice-to-haves

  • Training or evaluation experience
  • Master's degree in a social service field
