About the position

The Project Coordinator/Deputy Project Manager at Kapili Services, LLC is responsible for leading a team of Data Architects and Data Scientists in developing data-driven decision-making tools for the Analytics and Evaluation Division of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role involves overseeing project workflows, managing team performance, and ensuring effective communication between government and contracting teams. The position requires a strong background in project management, particularly within the Military Healthcare System, and emphasizes the importance of analytical skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to team members and balance workload across the entire team.
  • Oversee, monitor, and track workflow across the team, documenting task progress and identifying blockers.
  • Document individual team member performance on assigned tasks and identify areas for improvement.
  • Attend and participate in various meetings, including quality improvement and departmental meetings.
  • Search the Analytics & Evaluation Request Portal (AERP) for new task assignments and document task status.
  • Serve as an intermediary between the government team lead and contracting team members, providing task direction and status updates.
  • Coordinate with other Project Coordinators and government team leads on cross-team work efforts.
  • Lead team meetings to track progress and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
  • Track new team member onboarding processes and coordinate with the government team for approvals.
  • Keep abreast of policy changes and implement new processes as required.
  • Provide reports on trends, problems, and skill shortages to government and contracting leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Computer Application.
  • Program Management Professional certification or equivalent experience (to be obtained within one year of employment).
  • Information Systems experience in Project Plan Development.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Military Healthcare System in various leadership positions.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification to be started within six months and completed within one year.

Nice-to-haves

  • SQL development background.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience developing databases and understanding data modeling concepts.
  • Background in developing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
  • Experience in testing and maintaining ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL data storage techniques and Big Data technologies.
  • Experience leading a data architecture development team.
