About the position

Ludvik Electric Co. is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist the Project Manager in ensuring adherence to contract documents, including plans, specifications, permits, and technical elements. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating project scheduling and communication, managing data and material resources throughout the project lifecycle to achieve predetermined objectives related to scope, cost, time, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction. This position is vital to maintaining the high standards of Ludvik Electric, which is recognized as one of the top electrical contractors in the industry. The role requires a commitment to safety, as it has been designated as safety sensitive, meaning that the employee must exercise full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute all job responsibilities. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and maintaining project files in accordance with Ludvik Electric policies and project-specific requirements. This includes preparing submittals, shop drawings, layout drawings, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals as required by project needs. The individual will enforce the Project Strategy Document, prepare Purchase Orders and Subcontracts, and distribute and maintain current drawings, specifications, and product data. Leadership is a key component of this role, as the Project Coordinator will set an example for team members, respond promptly to their needs, and resolve issues with clients efficiently. Additionally, the coordinator will provide value and technical input to the project team to help satisfy client needs and create and maintain required project logs such as Submittal, Purchase Orders, RFI, LECR, and Material logs. The Project Coordinator will also assist in controlling estimates, managing daily affairs to stay on budget and on schedule, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining accurate timecard and cost reporting. Material management at the job site, prompt pricing and settling of change orders, adherence to Ludvik Policies and Procedures, and setting priorities to achieve goals are also essential responsibilities. The role may include soliciting additional electrical scope to existing contracts and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager with adherence to contract documents including plans, specifications, permits, and technical elements.
  • Coordinate project scheduling and communication.
  • Manage data and material resources throughout the life of a project.
  • Prepare and maintain project files in accordance with Ludvik Electric policies and project specific requirements.
  • Prepare submittals, shop drawings, layout drawings, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and other documentation as required.
  • Enforce Project Strategy Document.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.

  • Provide leadership and set standards for the project team.

  • Adhere to and enforce all Ludvik Policies and Procedures.
  • Set priorities to achieve goals and maintain a personal project log.
  • Solicit additional electrical scope to existing contracts and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Less than 2 years as project coordinator in electrical construction or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience through classes, volunteer work, or warehouse experience.
  • Minimum of 4 credit hours of continuing education per year.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare O&M's and submittals.
  • Ability to draft Purchase Orders, Subcontracts, and Change Orders with minimal errors.
  • Understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Attendance to supervisor training sessions.
  • Ability to set up and maintain job files.
  • Demonstrated ability to progress update P6 schedules, window logs, and change orders.
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, and P6 software.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend technical blueprints, one lines, and specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Novice knowledge of NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA 70E, IBC, and IFC standards.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with Dayforce software.
