About the position

LJA Environmental Services is seeking a Project Coordinator to support our Environmental Sector, primarily focusing on various environmental services such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Water of the U.S. Assessments, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents. This role is crucial in preparing technical reports and conducting field assessments, ensuring that project managers (PMs) have the necessary technical resources for project development and completion. The position is designed to foster professional growth, with the potential to advance to roles such as Project Coordinator III, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager. As a Project Coordinator, you will be involved in a variety of tasks that require a strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards. You will work closely with PMs and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The role demands excellent writing and communication skills, as you will be responsible for client engagement and the preparation of detailed technical reports. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate a proven ability to manage team efforts effectively, particularly in meeting the field assessment schedules for large and medium-sized projects. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. You will spend approximately 50% of your time in the field, which may involve working in various weather conditions. Responsibilities

  • Support the LJA Environmental Sector on all environmental services including Phase I ESAs, Water of the U.S. Assessments, and NEPA documents.
  • Prepare technical reports and conduct field assessments as required.
  • Provide necessary technical resources to project managers for project development and completion.
  • Engage with clients and manage budget effectively throughout project lifecycle.
  • Meet schedules and budgets while managing team efforts for field assessments on large and medium projects.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and clients to facilitate project success.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of proven technical experience including site investigation and technical report preparation.
  • Proficient in performing tasks required for projects under CWA, NEPA, ESA, CERCLA, and RCRA.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and client engagement skills.
  • Proven capability to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and manage team efforts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology, Soil Science, Rangeland Ecology, Botany, or related field.
