About the position

The Project Coordinator for Historic Sites at the Ohio History Connection is responsible for coordinating various projects and tasks within the Site System Operations Division. This role aims to enhance the organization's capacity to serve Ohioans by improving management practices across its statewide network of museums. The coordinator will facilitate communication, manage project schedules, and support local site managers to ensure that all sites are resilient and effectively managed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day planning and implementation of the goals of the Historic Sites Areas.
  • Maintain project schedules and organize physical and digital files.
  • Provide oversight and direction to local site managers, including board and staff members and volunteers.
  • Maintain timely correspondence with all local managing partners.
  • Gather and track required documents for projects.
  • Provide administrative support for projects, including finalizing contracts and scheduling travel.
  • Plan and execute two annual site manager meetings and annual agreement review meetings.
  • Promote and support established department services, including Membership and Marketing and Communications.
  • Coordinate small to medium projects across divisions within the Historic Sites Area.
  • Collect information for the creation of a monthly newsletter.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field plus three to five years of relevant working experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus one to three years of relevant working experience.
  • Strong writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in project management and implementation.
  • Ability to manage a budget.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in program and/or project creation and implementation.
  • Understanding of Ohio's educational landscape and educational standards.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
