The Utah Farm and Food Business Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating the day-to-day administrative, financial, and communications activities among various partners involved in the Utah Farm and Food Business Program. This program operates under the Southwest Regional Food Business Center (SWRFBC), which serves as a regional hub providing technical assistance and capacity-building opportunities for farm and food businesses across California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. The position is grant-funded through June 30, 2028, contingent on employee performance and the annual renewal of funding, with the possibility of continuation depending on future funding opportunities. The location for this role is flexible along the Wasatch Front, with a preference for candidates based in Salt Lake City. In this role, the Project Coordinator will oversee the project budget in collaboration with the Program Director and SWRFBC staff, ensuring that programmatic spending aligns with approved categories. The Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining records consistent with SWRFBC requirements and aggregating reports from Utah partners for quarterly reporting. Additionally, the Coordinator will ensure that evaluation and assessment tools are utilized effectively by Utah partners and other stakeholders, facilitating the development and execution of programming in the state. Regular meetings will be established for Utah partners, with agendas set and minutes recorded, while also attending monthly SWRFBC Leadership Council and Working Group meetings as assigned. The Coordinator will coordinate the development of an annual work plan for Utah partners and report this plan back to SWRFBC. They will also oversee the development and maintenance of the Utah Farm and Food Business Program website, providing regular updates through social media channels. Identifying statewide partners and managing a plan for coordination of efforts, outreach, marketing, and the delivery of technical assistance and grant and loan applications will be key responsibilities. Furthermore, the Coordinator will organize training and networking events for stakeholders, including farmers, ranchers, and food processors, and will serve as the Leadership Council Lead for one year, planning and hosting a regional meeting in the state tentatively set for July 2025 to June 2026.
